課程概述

This is a class that offers students the opportunity to learn about business, economics and the financial markets from a global perspective. Taking this course will help the students to gain basic but current knowledge on investing in various financial markets and choosing investment products suitable to their risk appetite. 

課程目標
 After taking this course, students are expected to have learned the theory and the practical, up-to-date skills necessary to identify, evaluate, and execute on investment opportunities that meet financial objectives, and then have learned how to construct optimal portfolios that manage associated risks effectively. 
課程要求
 Policies

Case studies: There are two short case studies during the lectures of this course. The cases, as well as the questions to answer will be given in the specific lecture under certain topic. Students will be required to work on their own laptops to analyze and generate some brief work as the answers as per individual. No case reports are requested.
Attendance: Students should sign up at the beginning of all the lectures. One will be considered late if she/he does not sign up in 30 minutes after a lecture starts. One will be considered no show if she/he does not sign up in 45 minutes after a lecture starts. The Attendance grading will follow this formula: min{20, 32- 2x -4y} if a student’s number of late and no show to be x and y.
Participation: One gets good participation grades if her/his participation enhances the learning experiences if the class or she/he simply impress the instructor with her passion and diligence.
Financial Calculator: TI BA II Plus or HP 12C are recommended, but not mandatory.
